It works much like other apps that offer Track Changes, with different colors tracking changes of different collaborators, the ability to accept and reject changes individually or globally, and so forth. Among writing apps, Final Draft is one of the most expensive products you can buy, but it's worth the price and sells for a one-time fee rather than as a recurring subscription. A Beat Board feature replicates the old notecard approach to arranging scenes, and a Story Map helps keep the story on target for pacing and script length. It compiles lists of characters and scene locations automatically. The app has smart auto-suggestions for formatting your work to industry standards. Professional screenwriters use Final Draft, and you should too, if that's your field.

So great! I did end up upgrading my MM when I got a new computer, but the tech support & customer service were top notch. I was having issues with MM when I switched operating systems, and after I declined upgrading the tech support walked me through, step by step, how to manually open MM to bypass the issues I was having. They really know what they're doing, and they're not money hungry. So if I didn't catch it there would talking scenery lolĪnd a major benefit to MM is that their customer service is fantastic. Like it moved the scene headings so that the scene heading was placed as a character name, and the description as dialogue. The only issues I had with MM was when I uploaded scripts from a different program the formatting could get messed up. I like the look of FD, but MM I think is easier to use. It converts files to pdf, the formatting looks great in hard copy, and there are decent sample templates if you need them.

I like both programs, but overall I have a preference for Movie Magic.įinal Draft does have some added frills over MM, but if price is a concern MM will more than get the job done. I won Final Draft, and bought Movie Magic Screenwriter.
